Les SODI WORLD SERIES, c’est le plus grand championnat du Monde de kart loisir !

Grâce à son réseau international de 200 circuits, les SWS c’est plus de 25.000 pilotes des 5 continents qui se divertissent en découvrant les vraies sensations d’une course de kart !

Comme chaque année, à l’issue de la saison, les meilleurs pilotes de chaque pays auront l’honneur de représenter leurs nations respectives lors des SODI WORLD FINALS.

Avec des courses non-stop sur plusieurs jours, une multitude d'animations et une cérémonie de clôture prestigieuse, les SODI WORLD FINALS, c'est LE week-end karting à ne pas rater !

Une grande fête internationale du karting où 280 pilotes du monde entier, qui partagent une passion commune, se retrouvent pour en découdre sur une piste, dans une ambiance de convivialité et de Fair-Play.

Cette année, les SODI WORLD FINALS évoluent et proposent plusieurs nouveautés pour le plus grand plaisir de chacun !

En plus de 40% de roulage supplémentaire comparé au année précédente, les pilotes qualifiés auront le plaisir de rouler sur deux circuits distincts et sur deux types de karts différents (en catégorie SPRINT et JUNIOR). Pour encore plus de fun, chaque pilote aura l’occasion de participer à des courses de nuit. Et bien évidement, pour que vos proches puisse suivre vos performances, une retransmission Télé en Live sera diffusée !

Sam Zian celebrates his birthday in style with two victories
Atef Al Barwani is senior champion with Alex Connor claiming junior crown
Birthday boy Sam Zian ended the SWS RX7 Senior Sprint Series on a high by winning the final two races of the 2014 season at the Kartdrome on Sunday night, while Atef Al Barwani did enough to end the year top of the championship standings and claiming the 2014 title in the process.

Former champion Paul Chatenay qualified on pole with a best time of 1:10.676, with the top six separated by a second and thus setting the scene for some very close racing on the night.

In race one it was Zian, Chatenay and Barwani who set the early pace, with Zian managing to edge ahead and win by 1.23 seconds followed by Chatenay in second and in his slipstream Al Barwani bagging third. Porus Noshir was fourth, ahead of schoolgirl Abigail Birch who rounded out the top five.

Zian did the business again in race two, claiming maximum points after a threeway duel with Al Barwani and Birch, who finished second and third respectively – a mere 0.712 of a second separating the trio as they crossed the finish line.

After 15 rounds of close racing the 2014 SWS Sprint Series came to an end on Sunday, with Al Barwani topping the standings with 8176 points, ahead of Hussain Umid Ali with 8172 points and Sam Zian on 7571 points.

Al Barwani said afterwards, “First of all a big congratulations to Sam Zian for taking a double win on the day of his 34th birthday.”

“Secondly, thanks to all my friends and family who came down to support me throughout the year. Nothing would be possible without them. I have secured the 2014 UAE SWS Sprint Series title which is a great feeling. Now roll on 2015 and lets see what opportunities lie ahead,” added the Emirati driver.

Earlier in the evening young Alex Connor secured top spot in the SWS LR4 Junior Sprint Series with a dominant and impressive display of driving, which saw him win both his heats and then take top honours in the Superfinal.

Other heat winners on the night included Kamal Agha and Samir Malas.

Eleven drivers progressed to the Superfinal where Connor cruised to victory ahead of Oliver Walton in second, Omar Al Sheybah third, Giaccomo Caccia fourth and Luis Velasco rounding out the top five.

Alex Connor topped the standings with 7495 points to take the 2014 championship title, followed by Samir Malas on 7112 points and third going to Oliver Walton with 6668 points.

The new 2015 SWS Sprint Series season, for juniors and seniors, commences at the Kartdrome during the O-Plate race weekend on 30 January.

Dubai Kartdrome

In the final round of the 2014 Endurance Challenge driven by Mini between CG Racing Pro and Batelco lived up to expectations as the two title contenders battled it out for every minute of the Dubai Kartdrome 24 Hours, while star driver, double Formula 1 world champion, Fernando Alonso led his outfit to the Best New Team award for their spirit and commitment throughout the race.
